Biography

James McGoldrick is a Dallas-based trial lawyer with extensive national and regional courtroom experience who has a record of delivering winning outcomes when bet-the-company risk is at stake. He has served as lead national trial counsel in hundreds of state and federal cases across more than thirty states and U.S. territories and in trials from coast to coast.

Mr. McGoldrick is a trusted leader and C-Suite confidante, he is agile and strategic both in and out of the courtroom, and he is equally adept at creatively resolving disputes in a manner calculated to serve his clients' business and legal strategies.

Mr. McGoldrick is a dual American-Irish citizen born in Malaysia who has lived in nine countries and visited more than forty others. He attended a Jesuit Preparatory School in Ireland and speaks multiple languages. His life experiences bolster his ability to succeed in any courtroom and relate to any jury.

Representative Cases

  • Prosecuted a Texas fraud and breach-of-contract aviation case featured in America's Top 100 Verdicts.
  • Defended a Fortune 500 company facing massive claims for lost profits arising out of the purchase of 670 tank rail cars.
  • Protected a global client from large consequential damages arising out of alleged failure to comply with the California Air Resource Board's Ozone Depleting Substance Protocol thereby preventing the plaintiffs from selling carbon offset credits.
  • Defended construction clients in alleged defect and catastrophic injury cases and separately prosecuted their subcontractors' carriers to recover indemnity, defense costs, and attorney's fees.
  • Retained as national trial counsel by America's largest solvent recycler and its largest re-refiner of used oil to successfully defend hundreds of high-stakes product liability and chemical exposure lawsuits filed throughout the United States and in Puerto Rico.
