Biography

Ian has extensive experience working on both complex high-value cases that require extreme attention to detail, as well as high-volume dockets featuring numerous national clients. Mr. Salzer can efficiently handle all aspects of the litigation process, and has successfully litigated a variety of cases, including major commercial contract disputes, fraud and fiduciary duty cases, real estate matters, corporate reorganizations, and construction claims.

Representative Cases

  • Prepared corporate witnesses and defended string of corporate representative depositions for big 4 real estate services company in New York fraud case involving nine-figure development loans.
  • Successfully argued and obtained emergency preliminary injunction in favor of Official Fiesta San Antonio Royalty members.
  • Secured $500,000+ summary judgment, including award of attorneys' fees, on behalf of Dallas-based tax consulting firm.
  • Primarily responsible for constructing arguments and drafting critical filings in billion-dollar chapter 11 bankruptcy and securities fraud case.
  • Defended general contractor against construction defect claims on $1 million+ commercial warehouse job, and prosecuted counterclaims against site owner resulting in favorable arbitration award for unpaid invoices and attorneys' fees.
  • Obtained pre-discovery dismissal of commercial lien claim on behalf of institutional client.
  • Helped prosecute multiple mortgage repurchase/correspondent lending cases resulting in favorable settlements for Austin-based lender.
  • Negotiated favorable pre-litigation settlement for homeowner in residential construction defect claim.
  • Secured removal of uninsurable lien on behalf of transacting party in commercial real estate transaction.
