Biography

Driven by a keen understanding of the client's broader business and reputational objectives, Allison is a trusted advisor to clients with respect to pre-litigation, negotiation, and litigation strategies. She is a trial lawyer with extensive experience in federal and state courts, and arbitration proceedings, in complex commercial litigation matters. In recognition of strategic thinking and a successful track record, Texas Lawyer named Allison one of Texas' Best Lawyers and Rising Stars. National Law Journal also recognized Allison for her second-chair role on the trial team that obtained one of the most significant jury results in the country.

  • Represented numerous accountants and/or attorneys and law firms in matters involving tax shelter opinions, resulting in dismissal, favorable judgment, or favorable settlement
  • Represented engineers and architects in matters related to building design and land development, resulting in dismissal, favorable judgment, or favorable settlement
  • Represented real estate developer on enforcement of restrictive covenants and in defense of DTPA matter, resulting in successful jury verdict and recovery of attorneys’ fees
  • Represented real estate developer in numerous matters involving DTPA, warranty, TREC, and joint venture agreement/partnership dispute matters, resulting in injunction, successful settlement, favorable judgment, or withdrawal of claim
  • Litigated and arbitrated cases resulting in collection of amounts due pursuant to oil and gas leases and landowner royalty agreements
  • Represented national oil company in numerous disputes related to marketing and accounting-related breach of contract disputes, resulting in defense of business practices
  • Advised client and litigated EPA investigations related to lignite coal emissions from three separately located powerplants and hundreds of projects for large Texas-based electricity provider
  • Advised large, nationwide lenders regarding mortgage compliance, usury, fair debt collection and the FDCPA, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act
  • Represented nationwide bank in $20M wire fraud matter, resulting in return of funds
  • Represented clients in multi-district, high-dollar employment disputes involving covenants not to compete and tortious interference of contract claims in TRO, injunction, summary judgment, and arbitration proceedings after multi-million dollar sale of national medical supply company
